Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does it cost to play for the Coyotes?

Full season rate for Mites is $1400. Full season rate for U10/U12 skaters  is $1400 and $650for goalies.  U14 rate is $1975 for skaters and $650 for goalies. U18/U16 half season rate is $1400 for skaters and $650 for goalies.  Scholarships and payment plans are available. It is worth noting that the Coyotes are a non-profit organization, and these fees are just enough to cover the cost of putting our teams on the ice.

How much ice time is included in the price of tuition?

Most Coyotes full season teams  generally play a 22 game regular season schedule, plus playoffs for the top four teams in each division. We also have a couple teams that will be playing in the Bay State  Hockey Mite league which consist of a 6 game parity round followed by a 24 games regular season.  In addition, Coyotes teams practice twice per week at Charles Moore Arena (some exceptions arise with holidays, rink events, etc.). We try to add additional skills sessions and other ice events whenever possible. Teams also participate in our home tournaments at no charge.

How long is the season?

Coyotes practices start around Labor Day, and games begin in late September. The season usually ends in late March.

How much travel is involved?

This will very from team to team depending on what league they are in.  This season, away games have been played at rinks in Dennis, Barnstable, Bourne, Falmouth, Bridgewater, and Canton, however teams participating in the league vary from year-to-year.  Once per year, we try to participate in one tournament outside of our league geography – the past few years we have traveled to Lake Placid and Jay Peak.
Tournaments almost always start on Friday mornings, so your child may have to miss school for these.

I’ve heard that travel hockey means early hours at the rink… What kind of hours can I expect for games and practices?

The Coyotes are fortunate when it comes to ice times. Practices are held on weekdays, after school or in the early evening (typically starting no earlier than 5pm and ending no later than 8pm depending on the age of the skaters). Game times vary, but they are always held on Saturdays and/or Sundays, usually in the morning. Our teams occasionally have 7:30am games, but typically games are later in the morning.
